Katie & Rich | London
08th September 2014
It's a privilege to be a part of the weddings of people I know and, apart from getting even more emotional than I usually do, I loved every minute of this one. I've known Rich's family for years - he is a good friend of my brother (spot him below!) - so it was a huge honour and great fun to photograph whilst having a catch up with some familiar faces.
I arrived at Katie's parents house for a few pre-ceremony group shots and was completely wowed by Katie's and her bridesmaid's dresses, which were absolutely stunning. About a minute down the road was Christ Church where I caught Rich (looking superbly dapper in his navy suit!) greeting guests but it wasn't long before he and his groomsmen were ushered inside so not to catch a glimpse of Katie and her entourage making the short walk from her parents house, balloons in tow.
The ceremony was touching and afterwards, as the newlyweds and guests poured out into glorious sunshine, I clicked away in the background collecting some candids before it was time for group shots, a few couple portraits and the much-loved confetti throwing outside the Church!
Katie and Rich had arranged for the London Bus Company to transport them and their guests between the Church and their reception venue, which (apart from only one slight mishap of Granny getting on the wrong bus!) was a great idea, ran smoothly and was brilliant fun.
At "The Depot" the drinks reception began and I whisked the happy couple off for a few more couple shots before they welcomed everyone into the wedding breakfast with a duo-speech. The food was excellent and everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves as we slipped into an evening reception full of fun, in the perfect spot by the Thames.
Congratulations to you both, what a fantastic day. I wish you every happiness.
