Rachel & Edward | Hotel du Vin | Birmingham
17th February 2015
I first met Rachel and Ed back in 2013 when I had the pleasure of photographing Ed's brother, Dave's, brilliant wedding at South Farm (see that here), so I was absolutely delighted to be asked to photograph their wedding in Birmingham in October 2014.
It was a lovely autumnal day, which for me started with Ed and his groomsmen at St Paul's Church in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, a magnificent church in a quiet haven, bang smack in the middle of city life. The groomsmen and guests were in great spirits and it wasn't long before 2 beautiful bridesmaids and 2 gorgeous flower girls arrived - appropriately leading up to the arrival of beautiful, gorgeous Rachel.
After the ceremony we made the most of the surrounding trees and sunshine for some group shots and couple portraits in the square, before making our way to the streets surrounding Hotel du Vin for some more urban-styled portraits.
The Hotel really was luxurious and had a fabulous light and airy drinks reception area, where everybody lapped up some rays before making their way into a beautifully styled room for the wedding breakfast, where sat one of the most gorgeous cakes I think I've seen.
The speeches were hilarious! And I finished as the happy couple cut their cake, sure that the fun and high spirits were going to continue well into the evening.
Huge, huge congratulations Rachel & Ed, your wedding day was - and you were - absolutely lovely. Here's a few of their images.
